The DBacks, as we know it won’t be in the playoffs this year, but what happened to them? The Diamondbacks were nine games out of being first and they were leading the NL West for 125 days and they finished 82-80, “There’s so many things that popped up for me that maybe I would’ve done differently,” manager Torey Lovullo said. “I believe in some of the things that I do, there’s a strategy to it, but I’ll focus on everything from A to Z to make sure that I grow and learn.
“It was a long, grinding season, it was a very successful start followed by some ups and downs. And then one really, really frustrating September.” The offense at the end of May was just horrible in many offensive ways, batting averages for Paul Goldschmidt was .209, Jarrod Dyson was .202, Jake Lamb was .212, Ketel Marte was .216, Chris Owings was .190, and Nick Ahmed who had .202. And when your looking at the bullpen, they might look good before they play but not really. The Bullpen always gave up the lead in the 9th inning and single game and that’s how they lost to the Rockies, Cubs, and even more teams! So, if they want to win more games the teams pitching, hitting, and bullpen has to get better. Agree or disagree?
