Just looking back on some of these trades that happened between teams were good and bad and some on the same day, these trades involved clubs in the same stadium doing the same trade transactions.
The first one on the list would be D-Backs and the Rangers on July 31th 2018, D-backs got Jake Diekman and the Rangers got Wei-Chieh Huang. Diekman was using the D-backs bullpen to use as when riding from one team to another during mid July Interleague series down in Phoenix, “When I talked to Jake, I was like, It’s going to be a bit of a weird day today, and he said, can I take the bullpen cart over?” Said D-backs general manager Mike Hazen. “And I said, you can do whatever you want.”
The next one on the list would be the Reds and the Mets on May 8th 2018, the Reds got Matt Harvey and the Mets got Devin Mesoraco. For Harvey it’s been tough for him because he struggles on and off the field, and though already six weeks in the regular season, Harvey wasn’t at the Great American Ball Park when the deal was done but it was on the same day.
The third one would be the Blue Jays and the Astros on August first 2016, the Jays got Scott Feldman and the Astros got Guadalupe Chavez. When the Jays traded for Feldman that’s when the not so great looking Astros came to town, the Jays really wanted to avoid Feldman throwing but they had no choice but to in the 14th inning. He got a walk off double to win it!
"It's somewhat uncomfortable," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. "A few hours ago, he's in our clubhouse and a big part of our chemistry and our culture and then we walk him off. Obviously, as competitors, as soon as he changes uniforms, you change your affection for that guy, but I legitimately have some weird feelings about seeing him on the other side."
